KANTA ELEPHANT SANCTUARY offers visitors an enjoyable opportunity to spend quality time with elephants in their natural home, as well as gain an insight into their history and behavior, and create cherished lifelong memories of their time spent with these amazing animals with friendly, happy elephants in a safe and sustainable environment.We offer a retirement home for ALL elephants who have previously worked hard for tourism entertainment or in the logging industry.Feed, walk with, and observe our beautiful rescued elephants as they roam throughout our sanctuary, socialize and bathe naturally in our huge fresh water lagoons, as they would in the wild. 7:30 am. - Drive approximately 50 minutes north of Chiang Mai through a forest, and local farming areas.
8:30 am. - Arrive at Kanta Elephant Sanctuary. Walk through and learn about the elephants, change into traditional clothing and prepare fruits for our elephants.
9:00 am. - Meet the elephants. Feed, interact, and play with the elephants in a natural environment and get muddy as you learn about their behavior and history. Take photos with the elephants.
10:00 am. - Walk with and observe elephants when they are in a river for bath and you have a chance to join them.
11:00 am. - Get some tea, coffee and season fruit then say goodbyes to the elephants. Leave Kanta Elephant Sanctuary and drive approximately 50 minutes back to Chiang Mai. Drop off at your hotel or accommodation.
Important Note: At the Sanctuary, we will allow you to spend as much time as possible with the elephants. Therefore, there is no formal schedule and aside from pick-up times, the times shown here are approximations.
